Amanda Estes

Amanda has been dancing for twenty six years and teaching dance for ten.

I was born and raised in Prineville and am a graduate of Crook County High School and Central Oregon Community College.

My mom put me in my first tap class when I was three years old and I never looked back. I took tap, ballet, and jazz classes, and my sophomore year of high school I was introduced to the world of high school dance team. It's a community unlike any other, the camaraderie and family-like atmosphere had me hooked instantly.

During college I served as an assistant coach for the Crook County Sparkles and danced with The V!be Dance Center in Bend, Or. During that time, I was also an education major at COCC and quickly realizing that the academic classroom wasn't where I truly wanted to teach.

In July of 2008, I took over as the head coach for the CCHS Sparkles and we won our first dance State title in my first season. From that moment on I have known that this is the path chosen for me. In 2012 I won the Dance and Drill Coaches Association 1a-4a Coach of the Year. The award is nominated and voted on by the DDCA membership, comprised of coaches and other affiliates from across the state.

I've worked with teams all over Oregon at the high school and Junior level as a choreographer and also taught workshops and technique classes. I've worked in studios as a guest instructor and a faculty member.

Some of you might also recognize me from my eleven years with Crook County Parks and Recreation. I taught literally hundreds of kids to swim during my time at the Prineville Pool. Aquatics is my second love and if I wasn't dancing, I'd probably be pursuing a permanent career in that field. I've been a certified trainer for the American Red Cross for eight years and therefore have training and certifications in First Aid, CPR, AED, and others. It's made me feel more prepared for working with dancers as injuries are a natural part of the game at times.

I am beyond thrilled to bring this dream to life. I am a firm believer that when you do what you love, you never work a day in your life. I look forward to the challenges and adventures this will bring!

Ciera Hensley

I spent all of the life I can remember in Prineville. Dancing since I was 4 years old. I still remember my very first tap dance, “Catfish for Supper”! Since then my love for dancing has just continued to grow stronger and stronger. Since then I have danced in just about every style imaginable. Tap and Ballet have always been a couple of my favorites though. In my later years of dance I was an assistant teacher, this was when I realized that teaching was my passion. I knew that I wanted to share my love of dancing with everyone.

I taught in Colorado at, A Dance Place, for a few years. I learned so much and grew so much as a teacher and a dancer. I was able to take several master teaching classes in Denver, working alongside of some amazingly talented teachers.

My world is centered on my daughters, Adisynne (4) and Brynlee (2). This dream I am living is because of them. I want them to know that you can do anything that you set your mind too! Nothing is out of reach!

I have lots of fresh new ideas that I am excited and ready to share with all of you. I can’t wait for this year to start and to get to share my passion and love for dance with all of your dancers! Thank you all for the tremendous amount of love and support! We appreciate every single one of you!

Office Manager

Megan Foster

I am the mother of three and graduated with my Associates Degree in Accounting from COCC. Since I was little I've loved seeing the joy that dancing brings to the dancers as well as the ones watching. I have two dancers that attend Legacy Dance and am very excited to be helping in the office and behind the scenes this year.

Instructors

Tatiana Badilla (Tap Instructor)

For as long as I can remember dance has been a part of my life. I started dancing when I was 5 years old. Tap was the first type of dance that I fell in love with. I remember stepping on stage in my purple and black polka dot outfit and tapping my heart out to "Animal Crackers in my Soup". From then on, I couldn't get enough and the dancing never stopped.

I am so excited to teach tap in such a wonderful community and help others have the same incredible experience that I was able to have at such a young age! I am prepared to inspire, motivate and push the limits of all the dancers that step into one of my classes. Dance is more than just a movement, it is a lifestyle and a way to tell a story and show the world what you have to say.

Jacque Verbeck (Jazz/Ballet Instructor)

I started dancing when I was 6. The first time I watched a dance recital I was in complete awe. I knew from that moment forward this was something I have to do. I took studio classes up until my senior year of high school. I started out with tap, then ended up doing jazz and ballet.   My 6th grade year I was offered to join a competitive team through the studio. I continued on this team until my 9th grade year.

My freshman year of high school I joined the Sparkles. My life has been forever changed. Music and dance have such a big impact on my life. Music is more than just words to me. Dance is more than just jumping around to me. By dancing you can tell people your story without saying words. You can make people feel without a single touch. I hope to inspire and touch people's lives the way mine as been touched.

Kelly Rudy

I'm Kelli Rudy and I'm 18 years old. This year I'm working with the company team. My favorite style of dance is contemporary, but I love hip hop too. I would like young dancers to know that it's never too late to start dancing, as long as you love it and are willing to work hard.

Interns

Brooklyn Sampson

I’m Brooklyn Sampson! This year I am working with Miss Jacque and her little's! I am helping with ballet, tumbling and tap classes!! I have been dancing since I was three years old. I love the way it makes me feel and how it makes me smile. My favorite type of dance is tap I love the way it sounds. I am super excited to be assisting these little dancers and looking forward to a great year full of dance!

Kaitlyn Nixon

My name is Kaitlyn Nixon, this year I am assisting two different classes boys hip hop 1 and tot combo 2. I have danced since I was three. I started at High Desert, then switched to sparkles high school dance team, and now I am here at Legacy. I love dance because it gives me a purpose, I get to be artistic and athletic at the same time it is the perfect fit! I love working at LDC because I get to teach littles the joys of dance and make sure they have fun in a safe loving environment!

Mataya Barber

I am Mataya and I’m a senior this year at CCHS. I am assisting tot combo and jazz Pom this year and I am super excited! I have been dancing since I was 3 and I still can't get enough of it! My favorite style of dance would either be tap or jazz but I absolutely love watching hip hop. I want to teach my dancers how to be them selves and learn to enjoy the art of dance just like I do!

Vicky Bates

Hi I'm Vicky! I am assisting with Hip hop 2, hip hop 3, and dance/tumble 3. I'm already having a blast with these kids, and I'm ecstatic that I get to be involved at Legacy this year! Ever since I was three years old I have been dancing. Now I'm 17, a dance team captain, and Legacy intern. My favorite style of dance is hip hop because I can be myself and really get down to the music. I just want every dancer to be free to express themselves and love what they do, because that is what dance is all about.

Taylor Hordichok

My name is Taylor and I am assisting a jazz 3 class and a tap 2 class! I have been dancing for 12 long and exciting years. My absolute favorite style of dance is hip hop and lyrical! I want all you young dancers to know that no matter how much you love dance, you want to get a move, you want to be like a dancer you see on tv, or one of the older girls, you have to work harder than u have worked before. Dancing may look easy but it takes sweat and tears. These twelve years are the most hard and the most fun years that I will never regret, because I love the dancer I have become. I want to teach you to not give up, to keep pushing yourselves, and to help you accomplish anything you want!

Emaleigh Verbeck

My name is Emaleigh. I assist rhythm and movement and Ballet I and II. I love to dance because it always helps with my  and stress or worries that I have going on in my life. I can get my mind off whatever is going on in life.

Payton Ryan

Hi I'm Payton and I'm assisting Ballet III and Ballet IV. I've been dancing since I was 3 years old and my favorite style of dance is probably contemporary. Something I want young, or new dancers to know is to never ever let anything get in the way of your passion, and when things get tough, always remember why you started.

Kadyn Madison

My name is Kadyn Madison and I have a passion for dance. I'm assisting a rhythm and movement class which is really amazing because I started dancing when I was my girls age, 3! My favorite style of dance is by far tap because I feel really confident in tap and I have been doing it almost my whole life and it's my get away from reality. I would like to teach young girls that it's okay not to be the best as long as your trying as hard as you can to become better!

Kara Hurt

Hi I'm Kara! I am assisting an amazing Jazz 2 class I've been dancing since I was 7 years old and ballet or lyrical is definitely my favorite style.  What I want young dancers to know is that they are always better than they think and they should try to enjoy the dance rather than get in their head about how they look or if they are doing something correct.
